This semester for one of our Literacy classes we had the opportunity to get hands-on experience teaching a first grader how to read. We were assigned a student at the beginning of the semester and were taught each week how to plan lessons to improve their reading skills and how to cater each lesson to the child's specific needs. We have learned numerous strategies that have truly prepared us to lead out own classroom.
